Forever Family is a weekly televised news segment which features foster children in need of adoptive homes. Since its debut on May 30, 2002, 24 children have been successfully adopted. These are children who are traditionally the most difficult to place, as they are older, minorities, or part of sibling groups. To add to this success, many more children have permanent homes identified and numerous foster parents have been recruited. Forever Family, now a non-profit 501c3 organization, has also raised more than $40,000 in cash, goods and services specifically for these children.
The televised segments air each Thursday on NBC 6 in the 5pm newscast and re-air Sunday in the 9am newscast. Executive Producer Gia Tutalo-Mote also appears on Majic 102.7 FM every Thursday morning (alternating 7:35am and 8:35am) to discuss the Forever Family child being featured that week. There is also an interactive webpage at NBC6.NET which features videos of the children and links to adoption resources
